Bringing together two choreographic visions between classical and avant-garde, Companhia Nacional de Bailado brings the delicacy of Stravinsky and the audacity of Naharin to the Theatro Circo on the same night. George Balanchine’s inventiveness comes to life in Stravinsky Violin Concerto, a neoclassical work created in 1972 that invites us to see the music and hear the dance, in a sublime dialogue between choreography and score.
Alongside this historical piece is Minus 16 by Ohad Naharin, a work of plurality on stage that confirms Naharin’s ability to engage the audience. This contemporary creation stands out for its eclectic score—which ranges from Dean Martin to techno—its improvisation, and its unique language.
We are preparing a year-long celebration of national artistic creation, in connection with Europe and with the artists and cultural agents from Braga.
