In an exercise of research and autofiction on seaside tourism and contrasting realities, Ana Baptista uses as her starting point the typical Portuguese seaside towns that survive on seasonal tourism, designed to fulfill a massified cliché of “summer holidays.” These are picturesque, modern places with the smell of grilled sardines, typically Portuguese.
With her characteristic humor, the creator brings several questions to the stage of Theatro Circo: who are we when foreign eyes do not see us? Who are we when we look beyond the “very typical”? Where does our identity lie? The audience is invited to reflect on this constant hesitation between ‘right’ and “wrong” in a Supracasa show divided into two parts.
