To celebrate Carlos Paredes’ centenary, Theatro Circo has commissioned a special project from pianist and composer Mário Laginha, recognised for his talent in uniting Portuguese musical tradition with the universal language of jazz.
This unique tribute promises an innovative and deeply emotional interpretation of the work of the master of the Portuguese guitar. On stage, Mário Laginha will be accompanied by a quartet of exceptional musicians: Julian Argüelles (saxophone), Romeu Tristão (double bass) and João Pereira (drums). Together, they will bring to life a unique challenge, where the harmonic richness of jazz meets the melancholy and unmistakable beauty of Carlos Paredes’ music.
