Supracasa is a programme that supports artistic creation in the performing arts and also provides a platform for its dissemination. After its first edition last year, it is now starting its second edition with a nationwide call for proposals.
The first edition of this programme, in 2024, provided artistic residencies for five artists/companies from or based in the region. The works created there will be presented to the public throughout this year, fulfilling rituals of sharing and imagination between artists and spectators.
The second edition (2025-2026) kicks off with the opening of a call for proposals, the aim of which is to support the creation, production and public presentation of three artistic projects in the field of performing arts (two for the general public and one aimed at children and young people).
The call, which runs until 12 March, has a total budget of 39,000 euros. Three projects will be selected, in the areas of Theatre, Dance and cross-disciplinary, which will be awarded co-production support that translates into turnkey financial support of thirteen thousand euros, a workspace for a creative residency in Braga for ten days and a public presentation of the show at the Theatro Circo in 2026.
The selection will be made by a jury made up of Mickaël de Oliveira (playwright, director, programmer and artistic co-director of Coletivo84), Laura Lopes (performing arts programmer at Teatro do Bairro Alto) and Maria Inês Marques and Sara Borges, representing the Theatro Circo team.
Who can take part?
Individuals or organisations that meet the following requirements can take part in this call:
– Artists, in their individual name or through collective entities, born or resident in Portugal, who are up to 35 years old and have created and publicly presented between one and four artistic creations;
– Artists or companies that do not have shows scheduled for Theatro Circo or gnration throughout 2025;
– Academic, school or amateur projects will not be accepted.
The results of the selection will be communicated individually via a report on the jury’s final decision by the end of April.
