The project “O que fazemos com isto?” seeks to address the multiple colonial pasts and silences from different perspectives and experiences. Starting in 2024, various artistic objects will be developed in Braga, including a book and a performance, based on the encounter between young people, artists and war veterans. The project will work continuously with young people who have a connection to Braga and/or Portuguese-speaking countries. In November 2025, over two days, these different artistic objects will be presented, as well as organising a moment of thought and reflection.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS: ARTISTIC CREATION AND DISCUSSION GROUP (call closed)
The aim of this call is to receive applications from young people aged 17 and over who have a connection to Braga (whether through study, work or residence) and/or Portuguese-speaking countries, and who are interested in taking part in a discussion and artistic creation group around Portuguese colonial issues, 50 years after 25 April. This group will meet guests with different perspectives on this subject, such as the writer Ondjaki (José Saramago Prize 2013). From this group we propose the creation of a book of original short stories, a performance, a series of talks and public readings.
