For 41 years, Portugal witnessed the arrests, tortures, and exiles of those who opposed the Estado Novo regime. Through direct testimonies from 28 family members who resisted the dictatorial regime, this documentary portrays an era and a country, also providing insights into the present. The narrative is given by those who endured imprisonment and faced material and emotional hardships.

As part of the exhibition “Carnation Revolution – 50 Years of Freedom” and in collaboration with Lucky Star – Braga Film Society, gnration hosts a parallel programme of film sessions to celebrate and discuss the Revolution.

“Film Sessions in Revolution” is part of the parallel programme of “Carnation Revolution – 50 Years of Freedom” within the scope of Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture. Curatorial Project: Paulo Mendes. Session presented by director Marianela Valverde.
