Formed by Mats Gustafsson, Johan Berthling and Andreas Werliin, the trio Fire! develops a new approach to improvised music, with influences from free jazz, psychedelic rock and noise.
In 2009, they released their first album You liked me five minutes ago on Rune Grammofon, the label that has accompanied them ever since. Testament (2024), the work that serves as the motto for this concert, is their seventh record, recorded under the experienced hand of Steve Albini. With no flutes, no electronics, no guests and no extras, recorded live in the studio on analogue tape, it is a true testament to the group’s expressive power.
