Language gives meaning to our collective existence. We have learned to store our thoughts in inert matter—through writing—and, later, to transfer aspects of our cognition to machines.
Born in Prague in 1978, André Ourednik is a researcher and writer. With a degree in geography, philosophy, and mathematical methods for the humanities, he is the author of a doctoral thesis on the numerical modeling of inhabited space, as well as numerous articles in specialized journals. He has worked as a data scientist for the Swiss Confederation. He is currently a professor at the University of Neuchâtel and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne.
