Two decades since he made his debut as drummer and vocalist for Animal Collective, Noah Lennox has had many creative lives, but you can’t ignore the consistency of his creative vision, evident in solo albums such as Person Pitch, from 2007, or Panda Bear Meets the Grim Reaper, from 2015.
Sinister Grift, which he presents at this concert, is his first solo album in five years, the result of working with band mate Josh ‘Deakin’ Dibb. Lennox transforms his alter ego Panda Bear into something resembling an old-school rock band, playing almost all the instruments and featuring heavyweight guests such as Cindy Lee, Rivka Ravede and all his Animal Collective mates.
