Since the 1970s, Pierre Bastien has been building his machines, creating veritable orchestras of musical automata.
The French artist presents a unique cineconcert in Braga, in which he accompanies a selection of animated short films from the 1920s and 1930s, in response to an invitation from Bozar – Centre for Fine Arts in Brussels (Belgium) and the Nuits Sonores Festival (France).
This poetic show celebrates the joy of playing, improvising and inventing, immersing the audience in an enchanting atmosphere through films from the collection of Japan’s National Film Archive.
