This publication, developed within the scope of the The Shape of Neighbourhood Architecture and Art Festival of Braga 25, which also begins this month, proposes a new perspective on contemporary Braga.
Inspired by the format of an atlas, it brings together testimonies, drawings, photographs, and reflections collected in 2024 from residents of five urban areas and users of three community gardens that will host the festival. The documentation was systematised in a visual and graphic exercise developed by designer Ana Resende, complemented by a text from geographer Álvaro Domingues and research conducted by Space Transcribers, the festival’s curators. At the launch, the various contributors to the publication will gather to discuss its content and creation process.
The Shape of Neighbourhood is part of the Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture programme. Curated by: Space Transcribers – Fernando P. Ferreira and Daniel Pereira. Co-publication: Braga 25 and Circo de Ideias.
