Voices of contemporary Portuguese-Brazilian dramaturgy

A cycle of staged readings and performances that bring to the public plays by ten important names in contemporary dramaturgy from Portugal and Brazil.

The programme runs from February to November and features five works from each country, performed by guest artists, followed by a conversation with the play’s author or a person connected to its themes. At the end of the cycle in November, Lígia Soares will present the performance ‘Romance’. Mediated by actor, playwright and researcher Manoel Candeias, the post-reading discussions, open to public participation, will deal with the plays, their themes and the theatrical panorama in which they are inserted.
