The Marvellous Wizard of Oz (1904), by L. Frank Baum, gave rise to countless adaptations. Of these, the film starring Judy Garland will be the most famous.
According to the creators of this show, talking about The Wizard of Oz and the actress inevitably means talking about its influence and importance for the queer community, echoing themes of self-discovery, acceptance of difference and exploration of identity. With teenage audiences, to whom this creation is aimed, these themes also resonate in the formative moment of their identities, when they are faced with doubts about themselves and their place in the world.
