Wing Strike begins with Luís, a young student who is given the mundane task of reading one of the most emblematic Portuguese tragedies in time for his next class. That night – amid dreams, hallucinations and nightmares – he reinvents the classic story and replaces the characters with his classmates, all drag queens. In an attempt to understand and bring the original intrigue into their reality, the class of queens accidentally rush towards a tragedy they can finally call their own: the death of the family fairy, while she was waiting for the train to eternity.

‘Are you from Braga?’ is the usual question asked of anyone who leaves their door open. In Golpe de Asa, we challenge this popular expression, exposing the tension between the city and its historical tradition and the different bodies and identities that inhabit it, in a peripheral and sometimes invisible way. This show arises from the meeting between the artist Sílvio Vieira and queer performers living in Braga, and continues the series of concerns raised during the Assemblies of Desire.

Tickets for this activity must be collected directly from the Theatro Circo box office during normal opening hours.
