Based on the interpretation and translation of Our Father in various languages, Mario de Vega’s latest work is based on the multicultural impressions caused by the repetitions of this prayer.
From this exhibition comes an acoustic experience that invites us to reflect on the complexities of linguistic translation and its role as a historical instrument of indoctrination, colonization and cultural imposition. Through vibratory phenomena, architectural interventions, directional performances and electronic interfaces, the Mexican artist explores sensory experiences that use sound as a psychophysical material, seeking to provoke physical and emotional reactions that affect the ear and the cognitive processes associated with the act of listening.
