In the Insomnia series, Susana Paiva is inspired by her experience with performance art, which values the physicality of the artist and the performative aspect of the act of creation. The photographer channels this philosophy through the use of gestural marks that allow her to create images resulting from physical actions, rather than being the product of a static, mechanical process.
On July 22, at 6pm, there will be a workshop in the same space on the use of chance in the creation of photographic images.
