Since the late 1970s, Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth) has produced a series of works with a varied visual matrix, exploring themes related to architecture, the stage, the body, gesture and the deconstruction of the hierarchical sacredness of the object.
Beginning her artistic endeavours as Design Office – a project she has maintained to this day – Kim Gordon has developed a multifaceted approach, strongly based on conceptual art, installation, observation and punk aesthetics. Object Of Projection is a retrospective of Gordon’s work over the last decade, with special emphasis on her growing series of performative video installations.
