Cinex

Cinex was Braga 25’s expanded cinema programme, using film as a creative medium through which filmmakers, musicians, and visual artists from different generations explored a range of artistic approaches, including musical creation and live film concerts, new cinematic works, exhibitions, and installations.

In 2025, Cinex presented a diverse programme developed in dialogue with the artistic agendas of gnration and Theatro Circo. Highlights included the exhibitions Object of Projection by Kim Gordon and Los Cuerpos que Despedimos by Laura San Segundo; the premieres of the short films Pupa by Antía Carreira and Plumass by Bea Saiáns; and a series of cine-concerts, including Kathryn Joseph’s reinterpretation of Faust (F. W. Murnau, 1926), Francisco Carneiro’s live accompaniment to Diary of a Chambermaid (Luis Buñuel, 1963), and a performance bringing together Matthew Herbert’s music with Daniel Blaufuks’ film On That Day in Lisbon (2025).
