A programme of artistic sound installations specifically designed for public transport, namely TUB – Transportes Urbanos de Braga.
Through interventions in the fields of radio art, soundscape, documentary, performance, and music, the project explores in a sensory, narrative, and experimental way the themes present in our daily lives as passengers and observers of the transformations in the fabric of the city and the outskirts, paying special attention to the communities that are part of this universe.
We see public transport as public spaces with their own characteristics, which are integrated into the life of cities and their inhabitants, and therefore also a form of participation in collective life. Buses, in particular, are places of encounter with ‘the other’. By choosing listening as a practice that fosters narratives and experimentation that allows us to explore the audible signs of our communities, an artistic project centred on sound creation is thus articulated, supported by thinking around concepts such as mobility, landscape, territory, sustainability, public space, participation and community.
