Do you want to be part of the Braga 25 Volunteer Programme?
The Braga 25 Volunteering Programme aims to integrate all those who want to be part of this title through different volunteering opportunities that promote active citizenship, help to emancipate citizens, and provide varied individual and collective empowerment experiences.
This programme is the result of close collaboration between the Braga 25 Mission Team and the Municipal Volunteering Structure – Braga Voluntária, and aims to encourage the practice of volunteering by reinforcing values such as collaboration and civic participation.
Objectives
The specific objectives help direct forces and energies towards the Programme’s purpose. They are:
- To boost community involvement through participation in projects, activities, and cultural events;
- Fostering critical thinking, creativity, and active citizenship through the adoption of democratic, participatory, and sustainable processes;
- Helping to emancipate citizens, so that they are treated as autonomous, free agents with decision-making power and dignity (protecting people with diminished autonomy);
- Providing experiences of individual and collective empowerment, fostering the creation of bonds that generate affective spaces of knowledge;
- Create a legacy in Braga Volunteering;
- Promote opportunities to develop transversal skills in the personal, social and professional aspects of volunteering.
Dates
The Braga 25 Volunteer Programme runs throughout 2025, with the selection and training period starting in the last four months of 2024:
- Applications open: 15 July 2024;
- Closing of applications: 15 August 2024;*
- Interviews: September and October 2024;
- Training sessions (initial and specific): October and November 2024.
*If 2x the number of volunteers needed for the programme is reached during the registration period, the programme may be closed before the deadline.
Target Audience
The Braga 25 Volunteer Programme is a project that seeks to guarantee the accessibility and participation of the entire community willing to take part in a volunteer experience in a year of celebration of national artistic creation, in connection with Europe and with the artists and cultural agents of Braga.
We’re looking for people:
- Aged 15 or over at the time of registering for the Volunteering Programme;
- With an interest in culture and the arts;
- With a sense of commitment and responsibility;
- With availability between January and December 2025.
Registration for the Braga 25 Volunteering Programme is available on a dedicated form for the period during which registration is open (15 July to 15 August), and should only be made after careful consultation of the regulations.
