Throughout 2025, the Braga Municipal Archive is celebrating the legacy of José Ferraz Gomes Veiga, better known as Mestre Veiga, in the year that marks the centenary of his birth.
The exhibition explores the relevance of the Braga author in the current context, as a cultural memory of the city, based on the artist’s estate, as part of Braga’s Holy Week programme.
In addition to an exhibition component based on the graphic work of Mestre Veiga, there are also reinterpretation exercises developed by students from the IPCA School of Design, in diversified graphic approaches that reflect the vision of new generations on Veiga’s heritage.
Exhibition as part of MEMORAR – Cultural Mediation at the Braga Municipal Archive / Curated by: Cristiana Serejo, Jorge Brandão Pereira, Marta Madureira and Paula Tavares
We are preparing a year-long celebration of national artistic creation, in connection with Europe and with the artists and cultural agents from Braga.
