Kara-Lis Coverdale has become internationally recognised in recent years for her work in electronic music, but her artistic residency in Braga, on the pipe organ of the Basílica dos Congregados, is based on fifteen years of experience as a liturgical organist and music director in various Estonian churches in Canada.
In the last decade, Coverdale’s artistic vocabulary has expanded through digital explorations of her compositions, but the pipe organ has never ceased to be a means of expression in her creation.
Kara-Lis Coverdale’s performance for Braga 25 shows the artist’s reverence for space and presence, inviting you on a journey that demands introspection.
This concert is part of the Pipe Poetics programme of Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture and has the support of the Bureau du Quèbec à Barcelone/ Curator: Luís Fernandes
