Without scores, but heirs to the classical tradition, and influenced by musical styles as diverse as free jazz, early music, contemporary music and electronics, the Suelen Estar Quartet presents itself as a pioneering ensemble in the approach to the language of free improvisation on classical string instruments.
Under the title of Metamorphosis, the Galician group uses the repertoire for string quartets by the renowned contemporary music composer Caroline Shaw, one of the most outstanding composers of the genre, winner of a Pulitzer Prize for Music and several Grammys.
