Premiered in 2021 and having already travelled to more than 40 cities, Monologue of a woman called Maria with her mistress will be presented for the first time in the form of a staged reading by the show’s author and actress, Sara Barros Leitão.

The creator recovers moments from the staging, but favours, in this version, a more direct contact with the text through the spoken word. Based on the creation of the first Domestic Service Union in Portugal, the play tells the story, still underappreciated, of the women whose invisible labour sets the world in motion. At the end of the reading, there will be a conversation with the playwright and director.
