Written between 1974 and 1976, Music for 18 Musicians is one of the most emblematic and well-known works in the repertoire of contemporary composer Steve Reich.
Over the course of more than an hour, a large sound arc with 11 continuous sections creates a hypnotic atmosphere, a kind of trance in which body and mind merge in a unique sensory experience.
This show brings together the Drumming Percussion Group and an ensemble of musicians from Braga, highlighting the influence and legacy of this piece in contemporary music. It is part of Theatro Circo’s Contraponto cycle, dedicated to musical composition from the 20th and 21st centuries.
