Porta do Fazer

In this first workshop of the Porta do Fazer cycle, participants are invited to explore Braga embroidery, combining the mastery of a local embroiderer (Nanny Martins) with the vision of a contemporary artist (Clara Não).

Together, in an exercise in experimenting with hand embroidery, the group will have the opportunity to create pieces that combine ancient knowledge with new artistic approaches, in order to work on new interpretations and a fresh look at the messages and values that popular art can evoke in relation to the role of women and gender issues.

Porta do Fazer is part of the Braga 25 Portuguese Capital of Culture Mediation Programme
