Re:Opera is an initiative created to build bridges between different musical universes. Opera, as an erudite genre, will regularly dialogue with an unlikely musical style. In this first edition, Fado, a World Heritage Site, is invited to take centre stage.
The opera Belo é o destino desconhecido celebrates Fado and the greatest human drive: desire. Starting from the etymology of the word that gives its name to the national musical genre (from the Latin fatum, destiny), it meditates on determinism and free will. Concepts of fate, fortune, luck and passion are opened up.
