The pipe organ in the Church of São Lázaro is one of the most peculiar in the collection of these instruments in Braga’s churches. Small in size, its exuberant rococo decoration contrasts with the Modernist church that houses it.

The play of apparent contrasts also runs through the music of Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe, who is recognised mainly – but not only – for his work with voice and modular synthesiser, crossing a wide spectrum of genres. The American artist, curator and composer will be working with the organ of the Church of São Lázaro during an artistic residency, at the invitation of Braga 25, which will result in a unique concert.
