The city’s streets are once again buzzing with local traditions during Braga’s Saint John Festivities.
Over the course of eight days, centuries-old traditions take centre stage, including the Cortejo Sanjoanino, alongside the usual celebrations featuring the cavaquinho, cabeçudos and gigantones, folklore, and ethnography. The programme includes various exhibitions, parades, and concerts, as well as lively street performances with zés-pereiras, concertinas, cantares ao desafio, philharmonic bands, and the grand procession dedicated to the patron saint.
