Shopyard’s headquarters at Shopping Santa Cruz is once again opening its curtains to present the work process of the second artist residency selected as part of a call for proposals launched at the end of last year.

PLAYBOX, a proposal by the artist from Braga Maria João Petrucci, aims to transform the Shopyard project’s headquarters at Shopping Santa Cruz into a place exclusively dedicated to play. PLAYBOX is based on the collection and use of loose materials as a support for the promotion of free play. Loose materials are waste, discarded and unused materials that are reused here.

After mediating and collecting these materials from the various businesses in Shopping Santa Cruz, this installation-action, aimed at children, invites them to enter the Shopyard space and use their play, imagination, creativity and willingness to experiment to create a new world using the materials at their disposal. Because play is a basic necessity for a child’s development.

PLAYBOX is an activity aimed at children between the ages of 4 and 8, accompanied by an adult, taking place at Shopyard’s headquarters in Shopping Santa Cruz, between 16:00 and 20:00.

At 18:30, there will be a presentation of the work process developed by the artist during her residency.
