Singer José Afonso and poet Rosalía de Castro inspire the encounter between Portugal and Galicia at the Convergences festival, which is celebrating its 11th edition this year.
The programme, which also extends to four Galician cities, is concentrated in Braga between February 3 and 23, and includes a Galician film cycle, workshops, conferences and poetry recitals. There are also concerts, such as the one that brings together fado singer Ricardo Ribeiro and Uxía Senlle, an unavoidable voice of Galician tradition, for a night of fado (22 February). The two artists take to the stage again the following day in a concert by the Canto D’Aqui Group, which also features Amancio Prada.
We are preparing a year-long celebration of national artistic creation, in connection with Europe and with the artists and cultural agents from Braga.
