O que fazemos com isto? – Pensar questões coloniais

O que fazemos com isto? – Pensar questões coloniais was a programme dedicated to exploring colonial histories and historical invisibilities. Initiated in 2024, it brought together young people connected to Braga and/or Portuguese-speaking countries, alongside artists from different disciplines and thinkers, in a series of ongoing encounters and collective reflections.

This collaborative process gave rise to a range of artistic outcomes, including a book, a film, an installation, and a series of performances. Through artistic creation, dialogue, and critical inquiry, the programme fostered new perspectives on memory, identity, belonging, and the enduring legacies of colonialism.

The project’s outcomes were presented to the public over two days in November 2025 through a programme that included the launch of Everything Is Future, coordinated by Ondjaki; the installation Neo – Drapetomania by Diogo Gazella Carvalho; and concluded with the performance Peça-Con(ser)to. Together, these works created a space for critical engagement with historically silenced narratives and encouraged reflection on the continuities of colonial structures and their impact on contemporary society.
