Between 1986 and 2002, José Veiga signed many hundreds of cartoons in the Braga newspaper Correio do Minho, in the weekly space he called Bocas do Braguinha.
As part of the 25 April celebrations, and in the year in which the Braga Municipal Archive celebrates the centenary of the artist from Braga, this talk invites us to reflect on the role of cartooning today as a critical tool and an expression of freedom. With the presence of various guests from the field of journalism and cartooning, this will be a moment to discuss the relevance of cartooning in contemporary society and in democratic journalism.
Talk as part of MEMORAR – Cultural Mediation at the Braga Municipal Archive
We are preparing a year-long celebration of national artistic creation, in connection with Europe and with the artists and cultural agents from Braga.
